In April 2025, the 'CheongDae Newspaper' and the 'CheongDae Times', which represented the media in the school, announced the integrated operation as one, marking a new beginning. The two existing media have been operated from different perspectives, roles, and languages. However, due to the continued decline in the number of student reporters, it will be integrated into a single organization called the 'CheongDae Times Newspaper' in consideration of the sustainability of the student press in the future. This integration is not just a restructuring, but a change to create a more powerful and influential university press. The CheongDae Academic History will be operated under an operation plan tailored to the new era while taking advantage of the existing academic records.

History of the CheongDae Newspaper: The Representative Journal of 80 Years of Tradition

Founded on July 12, 1954, the Cheong Dae Newspaper is a representative in-school media that has represented the voices of Cheong ju University students over the past 70 years. The Chengdae Newspaper was founded as a four-page CheongDae academic journal based on Prime Minister Jeong An, who said, "Look at it correctly and think it outstanding." The Chengdae Newspaper, considered one of the most traditional university newspapers in the country, has played a leading role in fair reporting and student opinion promotion in the past. In the past, it had played a role by publishing newspapers regularly, but from July 22, 2020, it published articles online on the website of the Cheong Dae Press Agency and operated in line with the changes of the times and the development of technology.

The CheongDae Newspaper, consisting of 'Broadway Myeon', 'Social Myeon', 'Planning Myeon', and 'Culture Myeon', was not composed of reporters alone, but was the result of a joint work composed by the local community and our university classmates. The reporter covers various affairs of our university and the community, and our university classmates write various opinions.

History of the CheongDae Times: English-language newspapers that fostered a global sense

Founded on November 6, 1977, the CheongDae Times is an English newspaper in the school that is differentiated from the CheongDae Newspaper, published in Korean, and has played a role in promoting English learning for CheongJu University students in line with globalization.

The CheongDae Times has played a role in informing classmates by publishing various events related to our university twice a semester in English articles. In the past, overseas news was also published in English newspapers to deliver information to classmates, but now our university is focusing on the content of the articles.

On the operation and vision of the CheongDae Times newspaper, Ahn Ho-seok, director of the CheongDae Times newspaper, was interviewed this year.

Q1. Please introduce yourself.

A1. I'm Ahn Ho-seok, director of the CheongDae Times (Department of English and Literature, 4). I'm currently majoring in English and literature and double majoring in trade. I'll be the director in 2025

Q2. What kind of duties did you perform at Cheong Dae Times student insurance company in the past?

I worked as a regular at the CheongDae Times. As a regular, I interviewed and researched what was going on inside CheongJu University to write articles. Our CheongDae Times does not have a separate department. However, I was in charge of the task whenever I was given tasks such as writing Instagram and Everytime posts through meetings.

Q3. Please briefly explain the 'CheongDae Times Newspaper' integrated this time.

This time, the CheongDae Times and the CheongDae Newspaper have been integrated. This means that the department that writes Korean articles has disappeared and has been integrated into a department that only writes English. However, unlike in the past, our CheongDae Times has now been integrated with the CheongDae Newspaper, so we plan to write and publish English as well as Korean. Therefore, it can be considered that the work of the CheongDae Newspaper and the CheongDae Times is combined. We are planning to write and publish Korean articles on parts that were previously difficult to read in English, so anyone can read them.

Q4. Please say a word as the director of the student insurance company at Cheong Ju University.

Hello, I'm Ahn Ho-seok, director of the CheongDae Times. The CheongDae Times is an organization that exists for students at CheongJu University. It is an organization that provides information about things that happen in school, as well as other useful information and interesting things. To provide good information for students in 2025, I will try to get closer to them step by step with good articles and activities. Thank you.

통합된 청대 학보사, 새로운 도약을 알리다

두 개의 역사, 하나의 목소리로! 청대신문과 청대타임즈신문사, 단일 학보사로 통합

청대타임즈신문사 정기자 민정은

기존 두 매체는 각기 다른 시각과 역할 및 언어로 운영되어 왔다. 그러나 점점 줄어드는 학생 기자의 지속됨으로 인해, 앞으로는 학생 언론의 지속 가능성을 고려해 ‘청대타임즈신문사’이라는 단일 조직으로 통합되어 운영된다. 이번 통합은 단순한 구조 조정이 아니라, 보다 강력하고 영향력 있는 대학 언론을 만들기 위한 변화로 평가된다. 청대 학보사는 기존 학보의 장점을 살리면서도 새로운 시대에 맞춘 형태로 운영될 예정이다.

청대신문의 역사: 80년 전통을 지켜온 대표 학보

1954년 7월 12일 창간된 청대신문은 지난 대략 70여년의 오랜 역사 속에서 청대 학생들의 목소리를 대변해 온 대표적인 학내 언론이다. 청대신문은 “바르게 보고 빼어나게 생각하라”는 정안수상을 사시로 4면의 청대학보로 창간됐다. 전국에서 가장 전통 있는 대학신문으로 꼽히는 청대신문은 과거부터 공정 보도와 학생 의견 대변에 선도적 역할을 수행해 왔다. 또한 과거에는 정기적인 신문 발행을 통해 역할을 수행해왔지만, 2020년 7월 22일부터는 청대 언론사 홈페이지에 온라인으로 기사를 발행하며 시대의 변화 및 기술의 발전에 맞춰 운영됐다.

‘보도면’, ‘사회면’, ‘기획면’, ‘문화면’등으로 구성된 청대신문은 기자들만으로 신문을 구성하는 것이 아닌, 지역사회와 우리대학 학우가 함께 구성하는 공동 작업물의 결과였다. 기자는 우리대학 및 지역사회의 다양한 일들에 대해 취재하고, 우리대학 학우들은 다양한 의견을 보도하였다.

청대타임즈신문사의 역사: 글로벌 감각을 키운 영자 신문

1977년 11월 6일 창간된 청대타임즈는 국문으로 발간되는 청대신문과 차별화된 학내 영자 신문으로, 진실 보도, 사실 제작, 책임 완수라는 사시 아래 대학 언론으로서의 역할과 그 기능을 다하고, 더불어 세계화에 발맞추어 청주대학교 학우들의 영어 학습을 도모하는 역할을 맡아왔다.

청대타임즈는 우리대학과 연관된 여러 행사들을 영문기사로 학기당 2번 발행하며 학우들에게 알리는 역할을 수행해왔다. 과거에는 해외의 뉴스들도 함께 영자신문으로 발행하며 학우들에게 정보를 전달했지만, 현재는 우리대학을 중점으로 기사 내용을 다루고 있다.

앞으로의 청대타임즈신문사의 운영 및 비전에 대해 올해 청대타임즈의 안호석 국장과 인터뷰를 진행했다.

Q1. 자기소개 부탁드립니다.

A1. 안녕하세요 청대타임즈 국장 안호석(영어영문학과·4)입니다. 현재 20학번이고, 영어영문학과 전공에 무역학과 복수전공 하고 있습니다. 이번 2025학년도부터 국장을 맡게 되었습니다

Q2. 과거 청대타임즈에서 어떤 내용의 직무를 수행하셨나요?

청대타임즈 내에서는 정기자로써 직무를 수행했었습니다. 정기자로서 청주대학교 내부에서 일어나는 일들에 대해 인터뷰 및 조사를 하여 기사를 작성했었습니다. 지금까지 청대타임즈 에서는 따로 부서를 가지고 있지는 않습니다. 다만 회의를 통해 인스타, 에브리타임 게시물 작성 등 임무가 주어질 때마다 업무를 도맡았습니다.

Q3. 이번에 통합된 ‘청대타임즈신문사’에 대해 간단히 설명 부탁드립니다.

이번에 청대타임즈와 청대신문이 통합되었습니다. 이는 한글기사 작성하는 부서가 사라지고 영어만 작성하는 부서로 통합되었다는 의미가 있는데요, 하지만 저희 청대타임즈신문사는 과거와는 달리 이제 청대신문과 통합되었기에 영어도 작성하여 발행하고, 한글도 작성하여 발행할 예정입니다. 따라서 청대신문과 청대타임즈의 업무가 합쳐졌다고 봐도 될 것 같습니다. 기존에 영어라서 읽기 힘들었던 부분들에 대해서 한글기사도 작성하여 발행할 예정이니 누구든 읽을 수 있게 되었다는 장점이 생겼습니다.
